DESCRIPTION:Voici un message publié par Les Sangs Mêlés sur leur page Facebook: \nLe 1er novembre\, nous vous invitons à assister à ce concert-bénéfice à North Hatley\, que nous ferons au profit du Centre l’Élan.\nMartine Chiasson\, notre fabuleuse percussionniste en est la directrice et les Sangs Mêlés croient profondément à la mission de l’organisme et sont fières de pouvoir contribuer à la poursuite de sa mission.\nAlumbra el alma\nDans ce concert de chants du monde\, les Sangs Mêlés mettent en lumière ce qui anime l’âme des êtres humains\, ce qui les fait chanter et les rend heureux\, ce qu’ils trouvent beau et ce qui compte à leurs yeux. Ces éléments seront le fil conducteur qui reliera les chants polyphoniques de divers peuples que vous découvrirez dans ce nouveau voyage musical. \nLe Centre l’Élan\nLe Centre l’Élan accompagne depuis 40 ans les personnes de la MRC Memphrémagog qui ont besoin de soutien en lien avec leur santé mentale. Cette ressource communautaire privilégie les thérapies par les arts et la créativité comme outil au rétablissement et permet à plus de 150 personnes par semaine de participer aux différents services offerts.\nSon équipe professionnelle spécialisée offre des services de thérapie individuelle\, de thérapie par les arts\, d’ateliers créatifs et de dîners communautaires en accueillant chaque personne dans sa globalité afin de permettre un rétablissement en fonction des besoins et intérêts.\nLes concerts-bénéfice proposés visent à amasser des fonds pour que le Centre l’Élan puisse continuer à offrir les services de qualité en quantité suffisante pour répondre aux besoins.\nDepuis 2020\, le nombre de demandes acheminées au Centre l’Élan a augmenté de 53%. DESCRIPTION:Throughout his career\, Bob Dylan’s songs have been suffused with Biblical imagery. Based on the three spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 13:13\, Stuart will explore this theme and illustrate it with samples from Bob’s albums and live performances. \nGraduated from Glasgow\, Stirling and McGill universities\, Dr. Stuart J. McKelvie taught psychology and conducted research at Bishop’s University from 1972 until 2013. \nStuart likes sport\, exercise\, photography\, reading\, haikus and limericks but\, since the early 1960s\, he has avidly listened to\, followed and read about Bob Dylan. Following Dylan’s 2016 award of the Nobel Prize in Literature\, he has given numerous presentations about Bob’s work. \n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ \nTout au long de sa carrière\, les chansons de Bob Dylan ont été imprégnées d’imagerie biblique. This month\, we turn toward what that love asks of us in the public sphere. \nUnitarian Universalism has long affirmed a commitment to justice\, equity\, and democratic process—not as abstract ideals\, but as lived responsibilities. What does it mean to practice our faith in times of political tension and rising authoritarianism? How do we remain grounded in our values while engaging the world as it is? \nTogether\, we will reflect on recent events in the United States\, where Unitarian Universalists—through congregations and leaders connected with the Unitarian Universalist Association—have spoken out and acted in defense of democratic institutions and human dignity. We will explore what courage\, accountability\, and solidarity look like in practice. \nAs with the first service\, this gathering will be rooted in deep listening and small-group sharing. There will be space to process\, question\, and connect—speaking from the heart and listening with care. DESCRIPTION:This reflection will introduce the principles of the F.M. Alexander Technique — a practice that brings mindful attention to habitual patterns of movement and posture — as well as Vipassana\, a meditation tradition centered on attentive awareness of the breath.\nAt the heart of both approaches is observation as a non-judgmental act of curiosity: noticing what is present\, just as it is\, without trying to correct or modify it. Rather than doing differently\, the invitation is to pause the habitual doing — to undo — and allow life’s own intelligence to unfold.\nBy turning attention toward ordinary actions such as standing and sitting\, participants are invited to explore how awareness itself can open new possibilities for choice\, freedom\, ease\, and presence. \nTo see or not to see.\nTo do or not to do.\nTo observe and to experience. \nPhilippe Bouskéla has always been interested in lived experience. His curiosity to discover “what things feel like” has led him to explore\, study\, and work through various mediums in theatre and dance (Champlain/Bishop’s\, Piggery Theatre — Eastern Townships 1980–84)\, a BA at Concordia (Montreal 1984–86\, 1990–91)\, the Theatreschool for New Dance Development (Amsterdam\, Netherlands — Diploma 1986–89)\, certification as a teacher of the F.M. Alexander Technique (Eastern Townships 1995–98)\, as well as training in massage therapy (Eastern Townships 2023–24). \nHe completed his first Vipassana retreat in Montebello in October 2025.\nA reminder: winter services are held downstairs. She’s designed everything from strategic planning processes to teambuilding interventions in places spanning New York to Thailand. Carlye holds two Master’s degrees (Human Systems Intervention and International Development)\, is a certified coach and Red Team facilitator.
