SUMMARY:Water Communion /  Communion de l'eau - in person at the church
DESCRIPTION:Our first in-person service since March 15\, 2020 is sure to be a special one. To mark this occasion we will be holding our annual water communion service. Please see the Covid-19 guidelines at the bottom of this post to learn about the precautions we are taking to protect our community. \nEveryone is invited to bring a little water and pour it into a large communal bowl and tell where it is from\, or what it means to them\, or whatever. Water will be available for those who fail or forget to bring some of their own. The Water Communion is a ritual that allows us to share the meaning of significant happenings that we have experienced. \n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ \nTout le monde est invité à apporter un peu d’eau et à la verser dans un grand bol commun et à dire d’où elle vient\, ou ce que cela signifie pour eux\, ou peu importe. L’eau sera disponible pour ceux qui échouent ou oublient d’apporter une partie de leur part. La communion de l’eau est un rituel qui nous permet de partager le sens d’événements significatifs que nous avons vécus. \n\nUUEstrie Covid-19 Guidelines\nThe following guidelines are intended to ensure the safety of members\, friends and visitors of UUEstrie at UUEstrie-hosted in-person events. \n\nYou may attend an in-person event if you are fully vaccinated for Covid-19 according to the definition set by the Government of Quebec (at least 2 weeks following the second dose). \nMasks must be worn at all times indoors\, including during the service\, with the exception of the service leader or primary presenter.\nHand sanitizer will be provided at the entrance and exit.\nSocial distancing will be encouraged inside the church building. Some of the pews will not be available for seating to help maintain distancing.\nServices will not include congregational singing.\nServices will not include coffee hour.\n\nNote: UUEstrie cannot guarantee the vaccination status of all members and visitors so each individual must assess the risk for themselves when deciding whether to attend in-person events.

DESCRIPTION:  \nSustaining education for marginalized migrant youth in Covid times has been an exhausting task for the dedicated Burmese educators who make up the migrant education community in Mae Sot\, Thailand on the border with Myanmar. Providing support for their efforts during this time has also proved challenging for the Mae Sot Education Project\, a community-based project here in Sherbrooke.  This presentation will provide an update on the project as well as on the migrant education situation in Mae Sot – in the midst of Covid and Myanmar’s coup. \n\nSoutenir l’éducation des jeunes migrants marginalisés à l’époque de Covid a été une tâche épuisante pour les éducateurs birmans dévoués qui composent la communauté éducative des migrants à Mae Sot\, en Thaïlande\, à la frontière avec le Myanmar. Soutenir leurs efforts pendant cette période s’est également avéré un défi pour le Mae Sot Education Project\, un projet communautaire ici à Sherbrooke. Cette présentation fournira une mise à jour sur le projet ainsi que sur la situation de l’éducation des migrants à Mae Sot – au milieude Covid et du coup d’État du Myanmar.

Anne shares her difficult journey of leaving a fundamentalist religion as well as insights from her whirlwind year of experimenting with two dozen spiritual practices—from singing to solitude to going to a witch camp and heading out on a pilgrimage—and how they taught her to live more attentively and authentically in the world.
