DESCRIPTION:In our first gathering for this program series\, we reflected on love as the spiritual center of Unitarian Universalism. This month\, we turn toward what that love asks of us in the public sphere. \nUnitarian Universalism has long affirmed a commitment to justice\, equity\, and democratic process—not as abstract ideals\, but as lived responsibilities. What does it mean to practice our faith in times of political tension and rising authoritarianism? How do we remain grounded in our values while engaging the world as it is? \nTogether\, we will reflect on recent events in the United States\, where Unitarian Universalists—through congregations and leaders connected with the Unitarian Universalist Association—have spoken out and acted in defense of democratic institutions and human dignity. We will explore what courage\, accountability\, and solidarity look like in practice. \nAs with the first service\, this gathering will be rooted in deep listening and small-group sharing. There will be space to process\, question\, and connect—speaking from the heart and listening with care. Whether you are new to UU or have been walking this path for years\, you are warmly invited into the conversation. \nThe The Unitarian Universalist Pocket Guide will continue to serve as a touchstone for the series.
